Transferase Reaction
- Transferases catalyze group-transfer reactions, where a functional group is transferred from
one substrate to another
- Above is the reaction catalyzed by alanine transaminase, in which an amine group is
transferred from glutamate to pyruvate, producing alanine (reverse reaction)
