Structure of Hemoglobin
- Hemoglobin is a tetramer consisting of two α subunits and two β subunits, each of which is
similar to myoglobin in structure.
- Each subunit has a non-covalently bound heme group, and all 4 subunits are packed together
where certain residues of one subunit can interact at the interface with residues of adjacent subunits
